Edward “Skippy” Keeler, 70, of Hazlet, passed away unexpectedly Oct. 22, 2021, in Holmdel. He was born in Brooklyn in 1951 to Edward and Josephine Keeler along with two brothers, Gerald and Michael.

When Edward was old enough he enlisted in the U.S. Navy; he was stationed on the USS Independence in Virginia. He served his country bravely and earned the National Defense Service Medal and a Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon.

When Edward returned to civilian life, he married his childhood sweetheart Michele in 1974. They moved to Hazlet and started a family. He worked as a cable splicer technician for Verizon until he retired in 2006.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years Michele Keeler; daughter Danielle Faccas; son-law David Faccas; and his granddaughters, Carly, Jaclyn and Michele Faccas. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Edward was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald and Michael Keeler; father Edward Keeler Sr.; and mother Josephine Peterson.

Ed will be remembered for being a selfless man who always did for others before himself. He was the best husband, father, father-law, pop, uncle and friend anyone could ask for. He will never be forgotten and will live through his family, especially his three granddaughters who he adored more than anything in this world.

Visitation was held Oct. 29 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral liturgy was offered Oct. 30 at St. Agnes RC Church, Atlantic Highlands.

Arrangements are under the direction of John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
