Anne Mullarkey Fetsch

1158

Anne Mullarkey Fetsch of Tinton Falls passed away at Seabrook Senior Village Jan. 8, 2021. Anne was born and raised in New York City. She was one of five children born to Edward and Ann Mullarkey along with her beloved siblings Margaret, Edward, Alice and Charles. Anne left her beloved city three years ago to be closer to her sister Alice, her nephews John and Michael, and her great-nieces and great-nephews.

Upon leaving, she first went to Denver to spend time with her dear niece and daughter of Margaret, Alecia Brown, and her family. Next, with her niece’s help, she sold her home in Connecticut and her apartment in the city. Anne would miss walking to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a seminar or a stroll through Central Park to the Boathouse for coffee. She also left her associations, including St. Bart’s City Club and The Dickens Group. She even stayed in touch with some of her friends from grammar school!

Life was different living at Seabrook in New Jersey but, as with other changes in her life, she readily adapted. Besides, she would say, “I’m always meeting New Yorkers.” Anne found life in New Jersey to be quieter, more serene; lunch on the boardwalk in Asbury, a day at the racetrack, dance performances by great-nieces and sitting down to dine with friends at Seabrook. She enjoyed and was grateful for all of these things. Even with the pandemic, she said, “They bring meals right to my front door.”

She was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, successful business woman and friend to many. She was mostly known as Aunt Anne to one and all! Glad voices in the heavens are calling out “Hey, Aunt Anne is here! Yay!”

Anne and her family were served by John E. Day Funeral Home in Red Bank. Please visit her memorial website available at johnedayfuneralhome.com.
