ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS – An impromptu birthday parade brightened the day Tuesday, April 7 as friends, neighbors and administrators turned out to wish former Atlantic Highlands mayor Helen Marchetti a happy 95th birthday. The borough’s firetrucks, fire and water and public works vehicles, as well as personal vehicles filled with well-wishers took to the streets for a drive-by birthday parade outside Marchetti’s house.
“She is the star of our community,” said Adam Hubeny, borough administrator. “She has done so much not only for the town but for the people. She’s awesome.”
