MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP – On Saturday, August 15, graduates of Middletown North and South will meet on the field for a charitable alumni football game.
Along with the players and coaches, there will be alumni cheerleaders and bands there too.
The kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Middletown South’s “The Swamp” at 900 Nutswamp Rd, Middletown.  The public is invited. Tickets are $10 each, and will be available on site, the day of the game. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Touchdown Clubs of both schools.
Commemorative t-shirts emblazoned with the mascots of the two teams, an orange lion and a blue eagle, will be sold at the game, but some alumni say they are already rifling through closets for old highschool jerseys to show their spirit.
As of Monday night, 439 people have signaled on Facebook that they will be going to be their to cheer for their school.
There will be 50 players on each team.
On the Middletown North side, former standout running back and Middletown North’s all time leading rusher, Paul Castillo (1995) will be the captain, according to the organizers, OT Football.
Defensive end Justin Fumando (2000), and  RB/FB Pat Toland (Virginia) of 1984 have also committed to play.
