RUMSON – George Sourlis has been on both sides of the Ridge Road Rivalry. Now, the veteran coach is returning to Rumson-Fair Haven, following three years building Red Bank Regional into a Shore Conference power.

LINCROFT – Just 17 days earlier, Christian Brothers Academy was on the losing side when archrival Red Bank Catholic celebrated winning the Monmouth County baseball crown. This time around, the Colts came out on top – and got the higher-stakes trophy – dispatching the Caseys 11-1 in five innings to win the Non-Public A South championship.

Shore Conference softball’s reputation speaks for itself, and the 2025 SCT promises to bring excitement thanks to three juggernauts at the top of the seeding. Donovan Catholic is currently the top-ranked team in New Jersey with an undefeated record.

The boys basketball season saw Colts Neck break through to win the school’s first state title and Christian Brothers Academy reach the Shore Conference Tournament finals. Here’s a look at this year’s Two River Times All-Area team.

WALL – The Shore Conference altering its hockey postseason format to a top eight team bracket playing for the Handchen Cup with the next eight teams vying for the Dowd Cup has proven to be a welcome change.

Championships are a constant at Rumson-Fair Haven so it was only fitting that the newest sport on the high school scene follows the tradition of filling up the trophy case in the halls of RFH. The Bulldogs flag football team won the Shore Conference championship for a second straight year with a 37-18 win over Neptune.

After four straight Shore Conference championships dating back to the COVID-shortened season, this year’s SJV team is primarily made up of underclassmen but a key senior leader and tenacious defense resulted in a fifth straight Shore Conference title.

For the 13th straight year, Christian Brothers Academy won the Shore Conference Indoor Winter Track team title, but this time, it didn’t come easy.

For Xander Rice, his final college basketball season means more than just the game. Although it’s not uncommon for a Two River athlete to compete in their fifth year of eligibility at a New Jersey college, there is something special about West Long Branch native Alexander Rice coming home to play basketball for the Monmouth Hawks.
