The menu at Saffron, a recently opened restaurant on Front Street in Red Bank, states that it offers “Modern Indian Dining,” which begs the question, what is “modern” Indian dining or cuisine, as opposed to traditional Indian cuisine?

Over the years I have run or biked from the entrance gate or the first parking lot to the tip of Sandy Hook and back, but obviously, never at night, so it was a unique experience to drive that same route in total darkness to find the newly opened Mule Barn restaurant/bar at the very end of “The Hook.”

Some restaurants may feature a few of the most popular dishes from Peru, like ceviche, on their menus, but it is unique to find one that is dedicated solely to the full range of foods from that country.

Your eyes can tell you that there is no shortage of pizza places at the Jersey Shore. Most towns, even the smaller ones, are home to multiple pizzerias.

This group of wine lovers does not need much of an excuse to get together to share their wine with fellow winos!
